Family Fun Day @ Village Commons

It’s time for our 3rd Annual Family Fun Day! We are excited to announce that this year’s event will feature a Louisiana style Parade down Main Street! The Parade will kick off the event at 10am, so don’t be late or you’ll miss the fun. After the parade, the Family Fun Day event will continue at the Gazebo with music from the Shockers, games for the kids and exhibits for all ages. We will have food and as ALWAYS, boiled Crawfish complete with trimmings. We are always excited to bring a little of our old home to our new home. Proceeds will benefit the Warren County Humane Society, Able Forces and the Backpack Program. Come pass a good time with us and enjoy the Family Friendly event.

Music, Moon Bounce, Food, Craft Vendors, Antique Cars, Crawfish Boil, Games – all after the great parade! A family-friendly event.

Battle of Front Royal Re-enactment @ Village Commons and Chester Street

On May 23, 1862, the Battle of Front Royal pitted “brother against brother” as the 1st Maryland Infantry CSA led by General “Stonewall” Jackson battled with the Union 1st Regiment Maryland Volunteer Infantry commanded by Major General Nathaniel Banks. The one-day battle led to the retreat of Union forces across both forks of the Shenandoah River with a failed attempt by the Union to burn both bridges. Jackson continued north attacking Union forces at both Cedarville and Winchester. In recognition of that event, the Town of Front Royal will be hosting its 3rd Annual Battle of Front Royal re-enactment. Saturday will feature a battle re-enactment along Main Street, and music and vendors at the Gazebo area. Living history demonstrations will be going on all day Saturday and Sunday morning. The public is encouraged to interact and ask questions. The Warren Heritage Society, a partner in this event, will have the Confederate Encampment on their grounds.
