GLORY BEA: A Shenandoah Christmas Story, by Rich Follett and Larry Dahlke, set in the 1930’s in the Shenandoah Valley and the Depression has hit the valley residents. This story is being presented by Selah Theatre Project, in partnership with Lord Fairfax Community College on December 10-12 & 17-19, 2021. The diverse cast of actors from Winchester, Frederick, Clarke and Warren Counties are mixed with community actors, young actors ages 6-13 and LFCC students.
The two-act musical is partly based on real Valley families and events during the Great Depression, when families needed work and the CCC was providing jobs creating the Skyline Drive on the Blue Ridge. For the Thorne family, many promises are made. The Pineville Christmas Eve pageant will not be complete without its Christmas Cedar Tree. But, the blizzard of ’33 is causing havoc on the family members trying to get home for Christmas through the blinding snowstorm. It’s Christmas Eve – anything is possible on Christmas Eve. Hard times, an argument over a tree, a baby born at Christmas, a little girl lost in the snow, redbirds and angels… and a miraculous homecoming.
“It is our third time producing GLORY BEA, however, this time feels very special,” says director LaTasha Do’zia. “The collaboration of students, young kids and community members really brings the Christmas spirit to life for any person,” she continues, “It truly is a family favorite as well as a community favorite.”
“We are excited to partner with LFCC to bring live theater back to Middletown, especially with our first production being a locally written play that was performed at Wayside Theater when it was open,” says producer and Middletown citizen, Paige Ulevich. Ulevich praises the cast of Glory Bea: Kameryia Diamond, Naomi Greenwalt, Andrew and Cameron Joyner, Lillian Peterson, Erica Reisinger, Ben Rickman, Amber Shayeb, Will Speakman, Matthew Taday, and starring little Lillian Orndorff as Glory Bea.
“This partnership between a community theatre and community college sets the tone for how the arts can and should be integrated within a community,” says Do’zia.
GLORY BEA: A Shenandoah Christmas Story will be performed at Lord Fairfax Community College in the William H. McCoy Theatre on December 10-12 & 17-19, 2021. Tickets are $15 for General Admission/$12 for Students or Seniors 55+. Patrons are being asked to bring an unwrapped toy for Embrace Treatment Foster Care. Seating is limited.

Granules India to establish pharmaceutical packaging facility in Prince William County, Virginia, creating 57 new jobs
RICHMOND, VA – Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that Granules India Ltd., a vertically integrated pharmaceutical company, will invest $12.5 million to establish a pharmaceutical packaging operation in Prince William County. The new facility will be part of the company’s Consumer Health division and will return previously outsourced services in-house. Granules will lease 79,000 square feet of the Parkway 66 property at 7413 Cushing Road in Manassas and build out packaging lines and clean rooms to package and ship pharmaceuticals. Virginia successfully competed with Maryland for the project, which will create 57 new jobs.
“Virginia continues to attract pharmaceutical manufacturing, and Granules India’s new packaging operation in Prince William County is an important addition to the pharmaceutical ecosystem in the Commonwealth,” said Governor Glenn Youngkin. “The company’s decision to expand its footprint in Virginia is a testament to our infrastructure and robust workforce, and we look forward to further development of this partnership.”
“When a global company like Granules India establishes a second Virginia operation, it reinforces our business-friendly climate, collaborative environment, and skilled workforce,” said Secretary of Commerce and Trade Caren Merrick. “The Commonwealth’s pharmaceutical sector has gained significant momentum in recent years, and we thank Granules for continuing our success in this booming industry.”
“The addition of a U.S. packaging facility will result in Granules being among the few pharmaceutical companies to be vertically integrated from API to packaging, which will bolster the robustness of Granules’ supply chain while also enabling the company to react even faster to consumers’ growing needs for pharmaceutical products,” said Dr. Krishna Prasad Chigurupati, Founder and Managing Director. “The company chose Virginia because of Prince William County’s responsiveness which allowed Granules faster access to commercialization. In addition, Prince William offers a dynamic and diverse workforce that is eager to work along with the site’s proximity to several major seaports. Granules also chose to expand within Virginia to leverage its existing manufacturing footprint and workforce.”
“Granules Consumer Health gained a competitive advantage by locating their packaging facility in Manassas, and we welcome them to our business-friendly community,” said Ann B. Wheeler, Chair of Prince William Board of County Supervisors. “As the front door to Northern Virginia, Prince William County’s strategic location elevates the growing importance of supply chain logistics and distribution for global companies.”
“As we learned during the COVID-19 pandemic, a robust domestic medical supply chain is critical to ensure a secure, reliable, and safer system for patients and our national security,” said Congressman Rob Wittman. “Investments like this, especially right here in Virginia’s First District, are exactly how we continue to expand and excel in this space while adding additional jobs to the Commonwealth of Virginia. I commend the Governor for continuing to advance Virginia as a national leader in domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing.”
“I’m excited to welcome Granules India to the 13th district! Prince William County has an experienced, well-educated, and motivated workforce, and I believe we will have a long and successful partnership with Granules,” said Senator John J. Bell. “I thank Granules for their confidence in choosing to do business in the Commonwealth, and I want to congratulate and thank everyone from the Governor’s team who was involved in bringing this partnership to fruition.”
Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Hyderabad, India, Granules India serves leading brand and generics companies in over 75 countries with eight manufacturing facilities around the world. The company manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical formulation intermediates, and finished dosages, and its products include common consumer drugs such as acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and guaifenesin (a key ingredient in Mucinex). Granules employ 130 at a pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing facility in Fairfax County.
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Prince William County to secure the project for Virginia. Former Governor Northam approved a $200,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund to assist Prince William County with the project.

The Government Finance Officers Association is pleased to announce that Warren County, Virginia, has received GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its FY 2022-2023 budget book.
The award represents a significant achievement by the entity. It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. Budget documents must be rated “proficient” in all four categories, and in the fourteen mandatory criteria within those categories, to receive the award.
When a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award is granted to an entity, a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation is also presented to the individual(s) or department designated as being primarily responsible for having achieved the award. This has been presented to Finance Department.
There are over 1,700 participants in the Budget Awards Program. The most recent Budget Award recipients, along with their corresponding budget documents, are posted quarterly on GFOA’s website. Award recipients have pioneered efforts to improve the quality of budgeting and provide an excellent example for other governments throughout North America.
The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional association serving nearly 22,500 appointed and elected local, state, and provincial-level government finance professionals and other finance practitioners. It provides top quality publications, training programs, services, and products designed to enhance the skills and performances of those responsible for government finance policy and management. The GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program is the only national awards program in governmental budgeting.

How to care for bathroom plants
If your bathroom has a lot of natural light, giving it a touch of green with plants suited to a damp environment can be fun. Here are some tips to ensure they thrive.
Account for ventilation
Since bathrooms are humid, you need to consider air circulation as you decide on plant placement. If the room isn’t well-ventilated, some species may add to the humidity and cause mold and mildew to grow.
Opt for plants that dehumidify the air, such as ivy or orchids. Tillandsia is also a lovely choice. Commonly known as air plants, these beauties don’t require soil and can be displayed as a hanging arrangement or in a glass jar.
Evaluate your available space
If your bathroom is relatively large, you have a lot of freedom to choose your plants and can mix things up with a variety of species and sizes. If your space is limited, however, you should choose small plants that can be suspended or placed on a windowsill. Consider buying a spider plant, dwarf fig tree, or pothos.
The secret to keeping a plant healthy is to provide it with the correct doses of sunlight, water, and warmth. When you visit your local garden center, determine the needs of the species you like before bringing it home.
Your subconscious mind is the key to success
If you want to reach your goals and accomplish your dreams, it’s important to understand your subconscious mind. It’s the part of you that makes decisions, has emotions, and even takes action.
The subconscious mind is where all your ideas and decisions come from. We can’t change what our conscious minds are aware of, but the subconscious mind is completely different.
The subconscious mind greatly influences our lives, and you can use it to create the life you want.
The subconscious mind is the hidden treasure trove of all of our thoughts, emotions, memories, habits, and behaviors.
The power of the subconscious mind is why people continue to buy products and services they don’t really need. In fact, the only reason why you’re reading this right now is that you subconsciously agreed to read it.
Keep reading so that you can understand the power of your subconscious mind, how to use it to your advantage, and finally, how to make the subconscious mind work for you.
Your Subconscious Mind Is a Force of Nature
If you’ve ever heard of the power of the subconscious mind, then you’ll know that it’s a very real force of nature. It’s something that you’re not aware of, but it’s the thing that holds all the power within you, and it’s something that can either serve or hinder you, depending on how you view it.
When you’re asleep, your mind goes through the motions of your day-to-day life. If you’re lucky enough to get a good night’s rest, you can be refreshed when you wake up.
But, if you’re not sleeping well, then you can be in a worse mood than usual when you wake up. If you’re not sleeping properly, you might have insomnia, or you’re not getting enough rest to be able to get a good night’s sleep.
Your subconscious mind isn’t as strong as you’d imagine. When you’re awake, you’re conscious of what you’re doing, and you’re able to notice how your subconscious mind is working and going about its business.
While awake, it’s easy to see what you’re doing and how you’re reacting, allowing you to change things up a bit if necessary. But, when you’re asleep, you’re not doing much of anything. It’s a time when your subconscious mind can take charge.
When you’re asleep, your subconscious mind is running the show. It’s a time when your body is at rest, so it can’t be doing any physical activity. Your mind is the only thing working.
Your mind will still be thinking about things you’ve done in your daily life. It’s a time when your memory is very sharp, so if you can think of a certain scenario or a situation, it’s likely that your subconscious mind can bring that memory to the forefront of your brain.
If you’re able to be productive during this time, you’ll benefit from what your subconscious mind is doing. It’s a time when your mind is free to do whatever it pleases, and you’re able to get more done than you would be able to during your waking hours.
Maintain The Right Mindset
Most people want to know how to be successful. They want to know what they can do to succeed in their lives, but not many realize that being successful isn’t just about doing things right.
It’s about having the right mindset, and that’s not something you can just go and do overnight. It takes years and years of practice to form the type of mind required to succeed.
So, where can you get this kind of mindset? How can you make it happen? The answer to those questions is easy.
Your subconscious mind.
You might not realize it, but your subconscious mind is responsible for your entire body and every thought you think. You might not be aware of it, but it’s the most important part of you.
If you want to change anything about yourself, you’ve got to change the way your subconscious works. You can do that by taking steps to reprogram your subconscious mind with the correct and positive messages.
What you do in your conscious mind is always going to be controlled by your subconscious mind, and it’s your subconscious mind that controls all of your emotions. If your subconscious mind is constantly thinking negative thoughts, then your whole body will reflect that.
The same is true of your thoughts and the thoughts you allow to control you. You can’t change the way your body feels if your subconscious mind is saying negative things to it.
It’s also the same for how you think and what you allow to control you. You might not realize it, but your thoughts and emotions are controlled by your subconscious mind.
There are things you can do to help your subconscious mind become a positive one. For example, you might spend some time each day meditating and reflecting on how much better your life is going to be once you get to the point where you’re a success.
You might also spend time thinking about how happy and fulfilled you feel whenever you think of the fact that you’re a success.
There are many ways that you can use to reprogram your subconscious mind. The most important thing is that you’ve got to think positive and think positively about yourself and your abilities.
As you do that, you’ll eventually find that your subconscious mind is going to respond in a much more positive way.
You Can Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind
The subconscious mind is a part of our brain that controls all of our habits, instincts, and reactions. However, most people believe that we have full control over what goes on in our minds and can choose what goes on inside our heads.
We think we’re totally in charge of our minds, but that isn’t the case. We can’t force ourselves to think in a certain way. However, there are things we can do to help us think differently and change our subconscious mind.
Some people believe they can reprogram their subconscious mind, which is not entirely impossible. What you should do is learn about your subconscious mind and how you can change it in order to help yourself in life better.
One of the reasons why people try to reprogram their subconscious mind is to change bad habits into good ones. Many people struggle with quitting smoking and being overweight, and these are two major issues caused by a subconscious mind that is programmed to repeat things that it finds undesirable.
If you’ve ever tried to quit smoking, then you know that it can be a very difficult thing to do. In fact, it’s much harder than people realize. It takes a lot of willpower and mental strength to do it.
Unfortunately, it’s often easier to give up than to try and make the effort to change your habits. However, there are ways to help you change your mind and get rid of your bad habits.
It’s helpful to learn about your subconscious mind and how it works. It’s important to know what makes it work the way that it does. You’ll need to learn about your subconscious mind to be more aware of what it’s thinking and what it’s up to.
In order to reprogram your mind and get rid of your bad habits, you need to be aware of the things that make you think and react the way that you do. It’s very easy to get caught up in the day-to-day activities of life and not pay attention to the thoughts that are going on inside of your head.
However, it’s important to understand what your subconscious mind is up to, what it thinks about, and how it acts. You need to learn how it affects your everyday decisions and actions and if it’s affecting you the way it should be.
To reprogram your subconscious mind, you must be aware of what it’s thinking, what it’s up to, and how it’s acting. Once you become more aware of it, you can then control it and be more in charge of your life.
The fashion industry generates a significant amount of greenhouse gasses. For this reason, many businesses selling ready-to-wear clothes and accessories are actively seeking ways to reduce their environmental footprint. One way they’re doing this involves selling products made from vegan leather.
Items made of synthetic leather are often preferred by people who practice veganism, a lifestyle that eschews the use of animal products in all forms.
Not to be confused with vegetable-tanned leather, vegan leather can be made of grain, fruit, or vegetable waste. One of the most popular materials is pineapple leather, also known as Piñatex, which is made from the fibers found in pineapple leaves.
Alternatively, vegan leather can be made from eucalyptus trees, cacti, corn, mushrooms, and apple peels. Whether derived from sustainable crops or food waste, these versatile fabrics are increasingly used to create beautiful and supple handbags, belts, watchbands, clothes, and shoes.
Currently, vegan leathers occupy a marginal space in the market. However, they’re attracting more and more interest. Large brands anticipate a growing demand for these products by designers, retailers, and consumers around the globe.
