She was the first woman to be a successful television host beginning with the “Chevy Show.” Dinah Shore was born Frances Rose Shore March 1, 1917 in Winchester, Tenn. She was famed as a recording artist in the 1930s and 1940s, then went onto television in the 1950s. She received 10 Emmys before she died Feb. 24, 1994 in Beverly Hills, CA.
