VIEWPOINT: Getting Down to Brass Tacks
We’re late into this voting season, but not too late to think seriously about America’s future. It’s time to dispel lies and bravo sierra, time for brass tacks. In this 2026 election, and the subsequent 2028 presidential election, will we vote for America’s continuation as the Constitutional Republic that our Founders envisioned, with our recognized inalienable individual rights, opportunities and responsibilities, our keeping what we’ve earned with minimal government interference, and our willingness to contribute to the common good?
Or will we vote to descend beneath a heavy-handed dystopian socialist government whose demand for wealth redistribution and unrealizable equity requires their taking our private property. Would that taking destroy the liberties that’ve enabled us Americans to prosper?
While Open Forums attack political candidates, reasonable people know candidates are really being attacked because they don’t belong to the attacker’s political party and that people vote for candidates belonging to the political party that best represents their individualistic values. The real issue, then, isn’t the candidates, who reflect a party’s platform, but a political party’s principles. While knowing a candidate, particularly their moral compass, matters, understanding a party’s principles is critical because they justify its public policies.
Republican Party principles aren’t complicated. They’re better described as virtues because they’re timeless, universal, and rooted in Judeo-Christian morality and tradition, encapsulated in our Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, and Bill of Rights. The essence of today’s Republican candidates is representing all American citizens, providing safety and security, and protecting and defending our Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Voting for Republicans gives Americans the opportunity to continue thriving as a free people.
Democratic Party principles are more complicated. My research shows a tri-factioned party: Biden’s leftover Party of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) with principles unchanged since 2024; the independently governed, dues-collecting Social Democratic Party of America (SDA) that promotes extreme socialism and Marxist-Leninist Communism within the DNC; and Islamists.
Examples of their shared principles include: irrational hatred to destroy Trump and his enablers (hear Senator Slotkin’s (D-MI) 10/13/2026 comments), open borders, eliminating ICE, abortion up to delivery (making Nazis proud), gaining and retaining political power at all costs (Think “We the Party,” not “We the People”), and minimizing/eliminating constitutional checks and balances to retain power.
The Democratic Party provokes many unanswered questions. We do know that the red Marxist/socialist/Communists in the DSA and the green Islamists who want to replace the Constitution with Islamic law (Sharia) have formed a Red/Green alliance that’s united in overthrowing America’s Republic. We also know the Democratic Party is steadily advancing leftward, like Obama’s “… to fundamentally transform America” on steroids.
Right now, we question who controls the Democratic Party (the DNC or the DSA?). So, if Democrats gain control of Congress, beyond impeaching Trump, what would they sow? Chaos? The current unrest in socialist France is an example to the world of socialism’s failure and its national ramifications. We needn’t inquire into the Democratic Party’s questionable future policies. Vote Republican!
