FRONT ROYAL – Front Royal Police have confirmed they are investigating a reported break-in at the Warren County Economic Development Authority (EDA) building.
According to FRPD Captain Jason Ryman, officers were called to the EDA office at 400-D Kendrick Lane on May 18 after receiving a call from employees that a break-in had occurred. He said that because the investigation into the incident was active, no further details would be shared with the press.
Jennifer McDonald, EDA executive director, was more forthcoming. She shared with the Royal Examiner that acts of vandalism had occurred at the office during the incident reported to authorities.
During a June 5 interview with this reporter, McDonald said that the office had been broken into and several acts of vandalism had occurred. A number of items were missing from her office she said, but what most disturbed her what was happened inside the suite of EDA offices—acts of vandalism that were directed at Ms. McDonald. Though she shared details—including photographs she took—of the vandalism that occurred, the Royal Examiner agreed to McDonald’s request not to publish the information.
No other burglaries have been reported at the offices located within the Kendrick Lane campus, according to police.
