Front Royal Woman Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Crash
Virginia State Police have confirmed the identity of a woman who died in a motorcycle crash over the weekend in Warren County. Authorities say Dawn R. Bolton, 55, of Front Royal, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Saturday evening, although her body was not discovered until Monday night.
According to police, the crash occurred between 6 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Eldridge Drive, a rural road near Stonewall Jackson Highway, south of Front Royal. Bolton’s family had reported her missing, prompting a search, according to Virginia State Police Sgt. Brent Coffey of the Culpeper Division, a family member, ultimately found her and the wrecked motorcycle around 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Bolton had been riding a 2021 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound when the bike veered off the right side of the road and struck a tree. Investigators believe the crash site was concealed from view by roadside terrain and vegetation, which may explain the two-day delay in discovery.
Bolton was pronounced dead at the scene. Police confirmed she had been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Virginia State Police.
