Town of Front Royal Holiday Closures & Waste Collection Schedule

As the New Year approaches, the Town of Front Royal has announced its holiday schedule for business office closures and waste collection services.

Holiday Office Closure – New Year’s Day

  • Town Business Offices will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in observance of New Year’s Day.

Trash & Recycling Collection Change

  • Trash and recycling normally collected on Thursday, Jan. 1 will instead be collected one day early, on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
  • All other trash and recycling collections for the week will follow the regular schedule.
  • There will be no yard waste collection this week.

Christmas Tree Collection

Residents can dispose of live Christmas trees on the following Wednesdays in January 2026:

  • January 7
  • January 14
  • January 21
  • January 28

Please follow these guidelines:

  • Place trees at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on collection day.
  • Trees must be completely free of ornaments, tinsel, lights, and tree stands.
  • Trees with root balls will not be accepted.

Yard Waste Collection Ends for Winter

  • Final yard waste collection for the season: Wednesday, January 28, 2026
  • Yard waste collection resumes: Wednesday, April 8, 2026
