Front Royal’s Flower Baskets Bring Color, Charm, and Community Spirit to Main Street
Main Street is looking its best this summer, thanks to 44 colorful hanging flower baskets that now line downtown lamp posts. Their beauty adds to the charm of Front Royal—but it’s the community effort behind them that truly stands out.
The baskets are part of an annual beautification effort organized by the Front Royal/Warren County Tree Stewards’ Beautification Committee in partnership with the Town of Front Royal. Local businesses, nonprofits, and individuals each sponsored a basket to help fund the project.
Each basket sponsorship covered a portion of the overall cost, which included $3,595 for flowers, along with additional expenses for soil, signage, and seasonal upkeep. The Town’s Streets & Horticulture Department, led by Supervisor Allen Pack, handled installation and daily maintenance throughout the summer.
“We hear all the time how much people love the baskets,” said Walt and Taffy Mabe of the Beautification Committee. “They brighten up the town, draw attention to local businesses, and help make Front Royal a place people want to return to again and again.”

To recognize the community’s generosity, each basket includes a custom tag, though many are now covered by overflowing blooms. Below is the full list of sponsors who made this year’s baskets possible.
