Local residents turn out in large numbers to pay tax bills

FRONT ROYAL – The first half of real estate tax bills,  personal property tax bills  and the current year vehicle license fee were due in Warren County and Front Royal Monday, June 5. 

Scores of residents decided to wait until the last minute to pay the fees in person, even though payments postmarked June 5 would be considered as paid on time, according to Warren County Treasurer Wanda Bryant.

Taxpayers line up Monday, June 5, at the Warren County Government Center to pay personal property and real estate taxes, both due June 5.

Lines snaked through the Warren County Government Center as taxpayers lined up to pay their taxes on Monday, the due date for the first installment of the annual payment.
