VIEWPOINT: Celebrating Easter Holistically

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6)

On Easter Sunday (“Resurrection Day”), Christians enter their churches to celebrate the fulfillment of Biblical Scripture: Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead with hope for us. As He told Apostle Thomas, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6), and told Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies” (John 11:25). Jesus’ resurrection is Christianity’s defining doctrine. His empty tomb distinguishes Christianity from other religions.

Christ’s “Resurrection” gifted us the Gospel (“Good News”). Apostle Paul summarized the Gospel, with eyewitness evidence, in 1 Corinthians 15:3-6, “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: how Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and was seen by Peter, and then by the twelve (apostles). Then He was seen by over (500) brothers at once, of whom (most remain alive), though some have (died). Then He was seen by James (Jesus’ half-brother) and then by all the apostles. (Lastly, I saw Jesus) also…” This Gospel established the moral foundation for Western Civilization and, I believe, the source of God’s former blessings to America, including our individual freedoms.

At His crucifixion, Jesus took our sin (the “Bad News”) upon Himself so we can enter Heaven and live eternally with the Holy God. Paul states, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23), and “So that, just as sin reigned in death, grace (God’s unmerited favor) might reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 5:21). Apostle John states, “Whoever believes in the Son (Jesus – the 2nd Person of the Godhead (Trinity) comprised of three persons – Father, Son, Holy Spirit – in one God) has eternal life. He who (doesn’t) believe the Son (won’t) see (eternal) life, but (God’s wrath) remains on them” (John 3:36).

To summarize, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves. It is (God’s gift), not of works, so that no one should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:8-10).

While Easter reminds Christians in the church of a heavenly future, Christians can’t ignore God’s Biblical Judeo-Christian principles that we’re to observe on Earth in the public square. We must show our faith in the church, especially the public square. Once, America was a Christian nation: most Americans were Christians. Then, our governments governed us as citizens – not as subjects – with Judeo-Christian principles. Now, America’s cultural, financial, technological, and governmental power centers have embraced the far-left Democrat Party’s Wokeism that originated in universities to transform America and displace Christian influence. Wokeism comprises numerous atheistic, cultural Communist, anti-American hate groups and activities, like full-term abortion, identity politics, LGBTQ+, racist DEI, counterculture, etc., which divide and create confusion and chaos that’s designed to compromise America’s judicial system, replace our Constitutional Republic with a one-party government, and remove Christian morality from the public square.

Americans once believed their government would provide security and safety for their citizens. No longer. Wokeism advocates globalism, which is probably why Biden has opened America’s borders to 10+ million illegal immigrants, which is doing America incalculable damage. Biden opened our borders, and he has the sole authority to close our borders, as Trump closed them. Still, because Biden won’t stop the illegals’ invasion, America is experiencing increased drug deaths (100K/year), murders, crime, disease, home squatting, job displacement, gang activity, citizens removed to accommodate illegals, increased government expenses, and saboteurs are provided opportunities to shut America down. A Christian government cares about its citizens. Biden’s Woke government doesn’t.

Christians no longer enjoy the luxury of living under Judeo-Christian principles. Still, we retain the responsibility, the opportunity really, to confront evil (Satan), as Jesus did. As Christians celebrate Easter, let’s celebrate Easter holistically. Let Easter assure us of the promise awaiting us in Heaven, and that we’re to serve obediently by instilling our culture with Judeo-Christian principles to defeat Satanic Wokeism.
