Virginia State Police Investigate Fatal Warren County Crash
Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a 2010 Kawasaki side-by-side vehicle that occurred early Thursday morning in Warren County.
The incident took place at 1:25 a.m. on November 28 along the 3600 block of Reliance Road. According to police, the vehicle was traveling on private property when it attempted to scale an embankment. The attempt caused the vehicle to overturn, leading to tragic consequences.
The driver, identified as 50-year-old Dannel B. Bolt of Middletown, Virginia, suffered critical injuries in the crash. He was transported to Warren Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
A 29-year-old male passenger sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment at the scene. Authorities confirmed that the Kawasaki side-by-side was not equipped with seatbelts, a factor that likely contributed to the severity of the incident.
State Police noted that alcohol appears to have played a role in the crash. Investigators are continuing to gather details to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
This tragedy underscores the importance of safety precautions, such as wearing seatbelts and avoiding alcohol while operating any vehicle. The investigation remains ongoing.
