Virginia State Police Report Nearly $396,000 in Drug Seizures During Weeklong Operations

Published

on

Virginia State Police reported seizing drugs representing an estimated $395,886 in denied revenue to criminal enterprises during a week of crime suppression operations across the Commonwealth.

The enforcement efforts, conducted from October 21 through October 27, 2026, involved Virginia State Police working alongside federal, state, and local law enforcement partners.

According to the agency’s weekly report, the operations resulted in the recovery of several types of drugs and investigations into criminal activity throughout Virginia.

The largest category reported by weight was THC consumables, with authorities recovering 80.3 pounds during the seven-day period.

Police also reported seizing 33.4 pounds of marijuana, 5.2 pounds of psilocybin, 2.1 pounds of methamphetamine, 1.2 pounds of cocaine, and 0.1 pounds of crack cocaine.

Together, the reported seizures totaled approximately 122.3 pounds of substances and products, although the weight of THC consumables does not necessarily represent the amount of THC contained in those products.

Drug Seizures Reported October 21–27

According to Virginia State Police, the week’s reported seizures included:

  • THC consumables: 80.3 pounds
  • Marijuana: 33.4 pounds
  • Psilocybin: 5.2 pounds
  • Methamphetamine: 2.1 pounds
  • Cocaine: 1.2 pounds
  • Crack cocaine: 0.1 pounds

The department estimated the seized substances represented $395,886 in revenue denied to illegal drug operations.

That figure is the estimated value of the drugs removed from circulation, not cash recovered by police.

The totals include seizures made directly by Virginia State Police, State Police task forces, federal task forces, and investigations in which State Police assisted other agencies.

Seizure Value Lower Than Previous Week

The latest figures represent a decline from the previous reporting period.

During operations conducted October 14–20, Virginia State Police reported drug seizures representing $733,227 in estimated denied revenue.

That week’s seizures included 88 pounds of marijuana, 3.1 pounds of methamphetamine, 14.1 ounces of cocaine, 4 ounces of fentanyl, and 6.1 pounds of THC consumables.

For October 21–27, the reported estimated value was $337,341 lower than the previous week.

However, weekly seizure totals can fluctuate based on ongoing investigations, the types of drugs encountered, and the timing of enforcement operations. The figures alone do not establish whether overall drug trafficking activity is increasing or decreasing across Virginia.

The latest report also showed a substantial increase in the quantity of THC consumables recovered compared with the previous week.

Investigations Continue Across Virginia

Virginia State Police said the weekly operations are part of an ongoing effort to investigate criminal activity, disrupt illegal drug distribution, and support public safety.

The agency works with local police departments, sheriff’s offices, federal investigators, and specialized task forces to conduct investigations and enforcement operations.

Such partnerships allow agencies to share information and resources when criminal activity extends beyond individual jurisdictions.

The October 21–27 report did not identify the specific locations where the drugs were recovered, the number of arrests made, or any criminal charges resulting from the operations.

Although the agency’s standard weekly report title references firearms recovery, it provided no firearm recovery figures for this reporting period.

The report also did not include a separate total for cash seized.

Virginia State Police said the continuing enforcement efforts support the Commonwealth’s violent crime initiatives and broader efforts to disrupt criminal enterprises.

The department releases crime suppression summaries weekly to provide information about its ongoing enforcement activities and cooperation with other law enforcement agencies across Virginia.
