Community Earth Day Celebration at Skyline High School is a big success

Published

on

Breathing it all in with yoga, planting seeds, hearing stories, eating frozen treats and delectable tacos and sides, listening to gifted local musicians, crafting turtles, viewing spectacular artwork from reused materials, laughing and playing, learning the science and natural workings of our environment and how we can preserve and conserve our Earth’s resources… that’s how we spent our Saturday at the Community Earth Day Celebration.

Tree Stewards Greenway Walk & Community ‘Plogging’ Kickoff, led by Jillian Atherton-Mellish, was held before the festivities started and got 4 bags of trash in the 3 miles they covered.

Many thanks to all of our tremendous guests who came to share their passions with the community! Please join us next year as we come together in love of the Earth to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day!

Thanks to the Skyline HS Choir as they started the event with the Star Spangled Banner:
