Front Royal teen facing gun charges in Winchester

A Front Royal teen has been charged with several gun-related offenses following an incident in Winchester early Thursday morning. (Stock photo.)
WINCHESTER — A 17-year-old male from Front Royal has being charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling, reckless handling of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of a firearm by a juvenile following an incident in Winchester that occurred early Thursday morning.
Sgt. Frank Myrtle, of the Winchester Police Department, said officers responded at about 12:05 a.m. Thursday to a report of shots fired in the 900 Block of North Braddock Street.
Evidence uncovered following a search of the home resulted in officers taking the teenager into custody. The male was transported to Juvenile Intake.
Sgt. Myrtle said in a written statement that there were other occupants inside the residence when the weapon was fired, however no injuries were reported.
