James Edward Simon, 80, of Beaufort, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Commonwealth Senior Living in Front Royal, Virginia.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in New Jersey.
Mr. Simon was born on August 14, 1944, in Covington, Kentucky, to the late Edward James Miller, Jr. and Mary Marjorie Hunt Simon. He was also preceded in death by his adoptive father, Charles D. Simon, and his daughter, Jennifer Simon. He retired from Aetna Insurance Company as the Vice President of Financial Services. He was a lifelong handball player and found new competition with every relocation.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Carol J. Simon of Beaufort; son James Simon (Georgie) of Bronx, New York; two daughters, Laura Hollenbaugh of Summitt, New Jersey, and Michelle Kohut (Noah) of Bridgewater, New Jersey; five grandchildren, Isa, Tristan, Kyle, Ethan, and Ruby; and one great-grandson, Damien.
