MIDDLETOWN – For the second year, Lord Fairfax Community College will host its annual career and internship fair. The event is slated for Tuesday, Nov. 14 in the Corron Community Development Center on the Middletown Campus from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. According to Career and online advisor Shelley Bowers, the event is open to both LFCC students and the public as well.
Prior to last year’s inaugural event, career fairs were typically offered for certain subsets of the LFCC community, such as nursing or Workforce Solutions. Ms. Bowers says some LFCC students, especially those who are switching career paths, seek internship opportunities as a way to get a foot in the door. She said free resume reviews will be offered during the fair.
40 employers were at the event last year, Bowers, said, and she hopes to get at least that many lined up for this year’s event.
Scheduled to attend the event so far, are: Valley Health, Westminster Canterbury, Kraft Heinz, Prince William County Police Department, City National Bank, Kjellstrom + Lee Construction, Trex Co. Inc., Commonwealth Care Group NOVA and Yount, Hyde & Barbour PC.
