What Matters Warren

Local volunteer group learns Warren County has serious need. People are homeless. People are cold.

A group of women at Buckton Church in Warren County, VA have been creating sleeping bags for the homeless for about 8 years. They have been sending these special sleeping bags, made with love and kindness, to the Washington DC area to help keep the city’s homeless people warm during the winter months.

Due to local efforts to increase awareness of the homeless situation here in Warren County, this year they will be donating their special sleeping bags to people of Warren County.

If you are someone who needs a sleeping bag to keep warm for the winter or if you know someone who does, please call Linda Allen at 540-550-0110.

The group at Buckton Church always welcome new volunteers to sew and make sleeping bags. They meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays every month. They take the winter months off usually due to the weather.
