Seminar & a Slice at Laurel Ridge: Spotting Sensory Challenges in Young Children
The Apple Valley Chapter of the Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children will host “Early Insights: Identifying Sensory Challenges in Motor Skills, Play and Emotional Regulation” on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 6–8 p.m., in the Corron Community Development Center at Laurel Ridge.
The session is led by Dr. Terin Fetty, April Willingham, and Erinn Throckmorton of SkyClimb Sensory Development Center. They’ll share practical ways to notice early red flags in movement, play, and behavior, and how to support children in the classroom and at home. Expect plain-language guidance, examples you can use the next day, and time for questions.
This professional development event is designed for early childhood educators, paraprofessionals, child-care providers, and families who want a clearer understanding of sensory needs. Attendees will receive a certificate for two hours of training.
And yes—pizza and chocolate will be provided.
