Warren County Habitat For Humanity receives significant donation for new Home Repair project
Front Royal, VA – Warren County Habitat for Humanity is delighted to report that it has received a $5000 contribution from a local businessman to support our new Home Repair initiative.
The accompanying gift letter states that the funds are to be used for “the establishment, upkeep and general functions of the home maintenance program.”
We are extraordinarily grateful for this support; with the closing of Help With Housing, the agency formerly serving Warren County and located in Berryville, there has been no available support to low-income homeowners in our county to help them with critical health and safety repairs so that they can stay in their houses.
Individuals who would normally qualify for Habitat assistance in building a new home will now also qualify for this Home Repair program. Those who can afford to pay back partially or fully the repairs needed will receive a no-interest loan and sign a promissory note to repay the repairs. Several individuals will also be chosen as “scholarship” clients and will receive free repairs, based on their financial situation and level of need.
Please check our website for a pre-screening application for this service and complete the form. Return to us at: P. O. Box 323, or email at: info@warrencountyhabitat.org to be considered. Currently there are eight applicants; WCHFH is hoping to serve a minimum of 10 homeowners with this new initiative this year.
