2024 Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival Kids’ Marshal Announced

Published

on

Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival® president, Sharen Gromling, in partnership with Kings Dominion, is pleased to announce the addition of a Kids’ Marshal for the 97th Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival®. Snoopy, the beloved beagle from the Charles M. Schultz’ Peanuts™ cartoon strip will join us on Friday, May 3 for several family focused events as we celebrate our Festival’s 100th Birthday.

Snoopy made his first appearance on October 4, 1950, two days after the first Peanuts™ strip.  He is not your average beagle. He is a book lover and a book writer.  Did you know he reads War and Peace at the rate of one word a day?  He is a collector of fine art and a root beer connoisseur. Plus, his unstoppable imagination helps keep his life anything but ordinary.  As the Flying Ace, he heroically battles the Red Baron.  As Joe Cool, he is the big dog on campus. But no imaginary adventure matches a nap on his doghouse—and waking up to a well-deserved supper made especially for him by that “Round-Headed Kid” Charlie Brown – a treat that Snoopy celebrates with his famous happy dance.

Gromling stated that she has long wanted a celebrity to be focused on our families and their kids, attending their events and being huggable all at the same time.  “When we reached out to Kings Dominion, we were thrilled at their interest and support in making this happen.  Thank you, Kings Dominion for partnering with us to bring to Winchester such a very special Kids’ Marshal.”

Snoopy will appear in the New Horizons Professional ABA Services Fire Truck Rodeo, Antique Show & Kids’ Activities, the Coronation of Queen Shenandoah presented by Morgan Orthodontics, the Shenandoah Valley Orthodontics Kids’ Bloomin’ Mile presented by Rubbermaid, and the Hang 10 Car Wash Firefighters’ Parade on Friday, May 3.

Tickets to Festival events are available at www.thebloom.com/events.
