Fork District Supervisor Resigns; Warren County Outlines Next Steps
Warren County today announced that Fork District Supervisor Ms. Vicky Cook has resigned effective September 3, 2025, due to personal obligations.
“On behalf of the Board, we appreciate Ms. Cook’s contributions and her commitment to the Fork District,” said Jerome Butler, Chair of the Warren County Board of Supervisors. “County business continues without interruption. Our focus now is ensuring residents remain informed as we follow the legal process to fill this vacancy.”
Warren County has received Ms. Cook’s written resignation. The County Attorney is reviewing the applicable provisions of the Virginia Code to confirm the exact process and timeline to fill the seat. What residents can expect next:
• A public update at the September 9, 2025, work session.
• Clear communication on the process and timeline for filling the Fork District seat, consistent with Virginia law.
• Information on how interested, qualified residents may be considered for any interim appointment, if applicable.
Updates will be posted at www.warrencountyva.gov, on the County’s official social media channels, and announced at public meetings.
