Front Royal Water Plant received Gold Award for Excellence
The Town of Front Royal Water Treatment Plant was awarded the 2018 GOLD Water Treatment Plant Performance Award for Excellence in Clarification, Filtration and Backwash from the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water.
The mission of the Office of Drinking Water is to protect public health and to encourage Waterworks to provide water with a quality that exceeds minimum regulatory standards and to operate water systems in an exemplary manner.
The Town of Front Royal owns and operates a Water Treatment Plant to ensure a plentiful supply of potable water to its residents and several Warren County customers for human consumption and fire suppression. The Plant is currently rated to supply up to 6.0 million gallons of water per day (MGD). The majority of the Town’s water is obtained from the South Fork of the Shenandoah River with additional water coming from Happy Creek and Sloan Creek.
This is the 4th consecutive year being awarded the GOLD Performance Award.
THANK YOU to the Water Treatment Plant staff for their hard work and dedication to ensure our water exceeds regulations.
