Warren County Prepares for Friday Night Basketball Showdown Against James Wood

Warren County High School is set to host a high-energy night of basketball as the Wildcats face off against the James Wood Colonels on Friday, January 16. The evening doubleheader will take place inside the Warren County gym, with the junior varsity game beginning at 6:00 p.m., followed by the varsity matchup at 7:15 p.m. Doors open early for pre-game coverage starting at 5:45 p.m.

This cross-county clash brings together two competitive boys’ basketball programs, each looking to gain momentum as the season pushes forward. With passionate fan bases and skilled players on both sides, the atmosphere promises to be electric.

For fans unable to attend in person, Warren County High School is making sure no one misses the action. Both games will be streamed live on the Royal Examiner website, thanks to the school’s student-run broadcast team, Wildcats Live! Operated through Warren County DECA, the production will include live commentary, in-game coverage, and post-game highlights.

The livestream is more than just a viewing option—it’s also a platform for students involved in media and marketing to gain hands-on experience. Wildcats Live! has become a well-regarded example of how high school students can combine sports, technology, and communication to engage their community.

As tipoff approaches, excitement is building for what’s expected to be a fast-paced night of basketball. Whether you’re sitting courtside or watching from home, the Warren County vs. James Wood matchups are sure to deliver strong competition and school pride.
