Julia Cecil Jackson (1923 – 2025)

Affectionately known as “Grandma June,” “JuJu,” ”CeeCee,” “LuLu,” and “Snookum,” Julia Cecil Jackson of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in the comfort of her home.

A homegoing service will be held for Julia at 1 P.M. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W Main Street in Front Royal, VA. Officiants will be Rev. Alfred Woods and Rev. Brevetta Jordan. The family invites friends to visit one hour before the service.

Julia was born on October 30, 1923, in Front Royal, Virginia, to the late Richard W. and Julia U. Fitzhugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Jackson; her children, Robert W. Jackson and Gay Camille Jackson; and her siblings, Minerva Ward, Florence Jett, Mildred Giles, Richard W. Fitzhugh Sr., and Charles L. Fitzhugh Sr.

Surviving Julia is her daughter, Aparna “Pam” Jackson; her grandchildren, Troy Frye (Cena), Lashanya Jackson, and Lashawnda Roberts; her 15 great-grandchildren; her seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Julia was a faithful member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church and was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #53. She loved to cook and bake, and her warmth and laughter filled every room she entered.
