Born in Leesburg and raised in Front Royal Virginia, Ryan Jewel calls the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of the Shenandoah Valley home. Jewel is a traditional country music singer/songwriter, now residing in Nashville, Tennessee. It was at Clemson University, where Jewel earned a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology (class of 2013), that his musical aspirations began.

Ryan Jewel, with his talented full band concluded the Front Porch Friday’s (August 30) summer season with a powerful two-hour performance at the beautiful Strasburg Square 18-foot by 20-foot shade sail-covered stage on East King Street.

A good size crowd attended the free concert and applauded Jewel’s rich 4 octave range baritone voice along with his wide array of music and songs. Folks kept pouring into Strasburg Square well after the show began at 7 pm and had to position their lawn chairs back by the parking lot. The evening weather was perfect (77 degrees) at concert time and stayed pleasant for the entire show.

Jewel’s accompanying musicians were well-honed through rigorous practice and experience, and presented a level of coordination and synchronization to make for a very entertaining live performance.

A large crowd slowly poured in bringing blankets and lawn chairs to see Ryan Jewel and full band perform a free concert at Strasburg Square.

Jewel claims he preaches the country music gospel in the form of writing songs and singing them. He is a mix between Josh Turner and George Strait. Old school style with modern day application. He is working on his fourth album scheduled for release in 2025. Jewel looks forward to the songs he has not written yet and performing on the stages he has not already entertained.

Jewel’s music pleases both the older and newer generations of country music fans. Good country music lovers were not disappointed.
