Two Page County men die in truck crash in Rockbridge County

GALAX, Va. — Two Page County men died Wednesday after their tractor-trailer overturned on Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County, according to a press release from the Virginia State Police.

The incident occurred near the 180 mile marker and the Natural Bridge-Fancy Hill U.S. 11 exit at 6:51 a.m Wednesday.

Investigators say the 2004 Kenworth tractor-trailer hauling manure was traveling south in the left lane when it ran off the left side of I-81, struck several trees in the median and overturned.

Neither the driver, Mark Tracy Lucas, 42, nor passenger, Gerald Allan Hilliard, 68, both of Stanley, was wearing a seat belt.  Officials say both men died at the scene.
