Vogel gains endorsement of Warren County GOP and Clerk of Court

Warren County GOP Chair and Clerk of the Court Daryl Funk has endorsed Jill Vogel in her bid for Lt. Governor.
FRONT ROYAL –Senator Jill Vogel, Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor, continues traveling the Commonwealth in her bid for the second-highest job in Virginia. A Fauquier County attorney, Vogel is squaring off against state Del. Glenn R. Davis Jr. (Virginia Beach) and state Sen. Bryce E. Reeves (Spotsylvania) for the party’s nomination.
Sen. Vogel has accrued the largest war chest of any candidate in the race, with a field-leading total of $1.2 million. She also has picked up a number of endorsements across the state since beginning her campaign. Most recent amongst them, that of Daryl Funk, Warren County Clerk of the Court and Warren County GOP Chairman.
Funk said, “In Richmond, Jill Vogel has been a leader fighting to protect localities. As Warren County Clerk of the Court and Chair of the Warren County Republican Committee, I have seen first-hand Jill’s commitment to getting Richmond out of the way. She has been a champion of tax reform, less government regulation and advocated for those working in public safety and in our Courts. That is why I urge all Virginia Republicans to join me in voting for Jill Vogel to be our nominee for Lt. Governor on June 13.”
Former Congressman Frank Wolf was among the first to endorse Vogel, saying “Jill is the right person for Virginia. I have known and worked with her for years, from fighting tolls on our roads, to preserving historic sites, to economic development and creating jobs across the region. She knows how to bring people together to get things done.”
Vogel has also been endorsed by Senator Mark Obenshain, Congressman Bob Goodlatte, Congresswoman Barbara Comstock, Former Attorney General Jerry Kilgore, Senator Bill Stanley and Senator Steve Newman.
On the Democratic primary ticket for lieutenant governor of Virginia: former federal prosecutors Justin Fairfax and Gene Rossi, along with Susan Platt, a consultant and former campaign manager for Democratic candidates.
Platt, however, has an endorsement from one of the staunchest anti-Trump celebrities on the planet. Actress–comedienne Rosie O’Donnell penned a letter Wednesday backing Susan Platt, stating that Virginia is long overdue to elect a woman to help run the Commonwealth.
Platt welcomed the support from the actress, whom President Trump has called “a real loser”; he has also criticized her weight and appearance.
“We need strong candidates like Susan who will stand up to Donald Trump and his cronies as they try to take away health insurance from millions of Americans and cut off funding for Planned Parenthood,” O’Donnell wrote in a letter distributed by Platt’s campaign.
The primary is slated for June 13, with the election on Nov. 7.
