Sandra “Sandy” K. Bell passed away on July 26, 2024, at the age of 77, at her home in Front Royal, Virginia.

Sandra “Sandy” K. Bell

Sandra was born on April 12, 1947, to the late Robert Lansberry and Phyllis Lansberry Willis. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert “Wayne” Lansberry, and son, Stephen Wayne Bell.

Sandra was an incredibly loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She shared 60 years of marriage with her husband, Douglas F. Bell. Together, they raised a family that includes their daughter Linda S. Fristoe and son Michael D. Bell. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Tara Laing (and her spouse Jeremiah Laing), Aaron “AJ” Bell, and her great-grandchildren, Ava Laing and Matthew Bell.

For many years, Sandra dedicated her professional life to nurturing young minds as a daycare teacher at Royal Christian Academy in Front Royal. Her love for children was evident to everyone who knew her, and she had a lasting impact on many lives.

Sandra found great comfort in her faith as a member of the First Assembly of God in Front Royal.

She loved to travel with family and friends and enjoyed many memorable vacations, including trips to Disney World, Las Vegas, and her favorite spot, the Outer Banks. She also enjoyed fishing and boating with her husband, spending many weekends on the Shenandoah River and the Chesapeake Bay.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 6 to 8 PM at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal. A graveside service will be held the following day, Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 200 West Prospect Street, Front Royal, with the Rev. Butch Hammond officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Sandra’s compassionate spirit and her battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Sandra’s warmth and generosity will be dearly missed by her friends, family, and all fortunate to know her.
