Front Royal Kicks Off 4th Annual Light Fight With Holiday Cheer

Published

on

Front Royal’s holiday spirit is set to shine bright as the 4th annual Front Royal Light Fight kicks off. Organized by local realtor Lori Oaks of Lori Love Homes, this festive competition brings out the best in Christmas light displays, attracting families and businesses around Warren County.

Light Fight has become a beloved tradition since it began four years ago. “It’s hard to believe it’s already our fourth year,” Lori Oaks said from the town’s gazebo, brimming with enthusiasm about the event. “Every year, we try to make it bigger and better; this time, we’re aiming for 60 participants.”

A Competition With Bright Rewards

The event isn’t just about lighting up the night sky—it’s about lighting up the community. Dazzling prizes are at stake, including $1,000 for first place, $500 for second, and $300 for third. A special $500 Fan Favorite award will also be given based on public voting, and $500 is up for grabs for the Best Business display.

“The Fan Favorite part is a highlight,” Oaks explained. “People love driving around, seeing the lights, and voting for their favorite. It’s something everyone can enjoy, whether you’re competing or just taking in the sights.”

Community Partners Make It Happen

The event wouldn’t be possible without support from local sponsors. “We have five partners who have been with us from the start: Quality Title, Greenfield Tax Strategies, C&C’s Frozen Treats, Green to Ground Electrical, and The Apple House,” Oates noted while also welcoming two new sponsors: Flawless Finish Design Company and Integrity Home Mortgage.

“We’re so grateful for these partners. Their support allows us to offer these great prizes and make the event possible,” Oaks added. Businesses interested in becoming partners are still welcome to join, helping expand the event and the prize pool.

How To Join The Light Fight

Participation is simple and free for all residents and businesses in Warren County. Signing up is as easy as visiting LoriLoveHomes.com. Decorators can start work immediately, but all displays must be completed and photographed by December 12. Contestants must upload a nighttime photo of their dazzling lights, earning them a numbered sign, picked up at  C&C’s Frozen Treats on Main Street.

“Once your photo is submitted, the judges will tour the county, scoring each display,” Oaks explained. Winners will be announced on New Year’s Day at The Apple House Restaurant. And yes, the prize checks will be ready to go!

A Festival of Lights For All To Enjoy

One of the best parts of the Light Fight is the holiday tours. “We hope to have the list of decorated homes ready by December 13,” said Oaks. “Families can plan their own tours, drive around, and marvel at the creativity and effort people put into their displays.”

For those extra enthusiastic, there’s even a chance to sign up as a judge, helping decide who gets the glory—and the cash. “It’s all about bringing the community together,” Oaks said. “Driving around and seeing all the festive lights makes Front Royal and Warren County feel magical.”

The excitement is contagious, and for Lori Oaks and the Front Royal community, it’s not just about competition. It’s about celebrating the holidays together, lighting up the town, and creating a spectacular experience for everyone.
