Nancy Pearson McMinis, 91, formerly of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Hidden Springs Senior Living.

Nancy Pearson McMinis

A memorial service will be held for Nancy at 2 P.M. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W Main Street, Front Royal, Virginia, with Sammy Campbell officiating. The family invites guests to visit one hour prior to the service.

Nancy was born on October 11, 1934, in Warren County, Virginia, to the late William Fred and Alice Rebecca Boyer Pearson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Tazewell McMinis Sr.; her sons, J.T. McMinis Jr. and Robert Thomas McMinis; her brother, William “Freddy” Pearson Jr.; and her sisters, Doris Ann Myers, Kay Dennison, and Alice “Sug” Farrell.

Surviving Nancy is her daughter, Susan Glascock (Scott); her sisters, Evelyn “Wobby” Licklider and Sue Krause; her grandchildren, Branon T. Gallihugh and Dylan T. Glascock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the Elks Lodge. She worked as a manager of the Child Care Center in Quantico and was a beautician for many years. She did a lot of volunteer work; one of her favorites was calling bingo for senior citizens. She also enjoyed bowling and golfing.

Nancy had a beautiful smile & made others smile & laugh.  She worked hard and played hard.  She was the life of the party, always in the mix.  She was always willing to help others, which gave her great joy.  Her family was her everything.  She would encourage them to be their best, never accepting defeat.  If she loved you, she made sure you felt it and knew it.  Her favorite color was red, which is bright & bold, just like her small yet mighty frame.

Thank you to the staff at Hidden Springs Senior Living for four years of care, giving her love & support.

The luncheon after the funeral will be held at Bennett’s Chapel UMC, Rivermont Drive, Front Royal.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at https://www.cdceportal.va.gov/donate_online/.
