Thermal Shelter of Front Royal opens

Published

on

Front Royal, VA – February 24, Thermal Shelter of Front Royal opening night took place at the New Hope Bible Church.  Homeless Liaison for Front Royal, Kathy Leonard reports, “We had a fairly smooth start this weekend. We were able to serve 5 people so far, which I think is a good start.”

The shelter will be open for the next 4 weeks every night starting at 7pm.  A shuttle van will be picking up guests behind St. Luke at 6:30pm.  A hot meal will be served in the evening, breakfast, and a bagged lunch will be sent with the guests in time for shuttle drop off again back at St. Luke parking lot.

“We have some awesome night managers, volunteers, and the community support has been overwhelming,” Leonard explains.  Since it was determined a paid night manager position was the best option, there is still a need for financial support.  Donations can be made at https://nhbc.breezechms.com/form/da4b8a.  Thank you!
