Front Royal Seeking Applicants for Planning Commission and LBBCA

The Town of Front Royal invites residents to apply for vacancies on the Planning Commission and the Local Board of Building Code Appeals (LBBCA). These roles offer a unique opportunity to contribute to the community’s growth and development.

Planning Commission

  • Term: Unexpired term ending August 31, 2026
  • Role: A 5-member panel responsible for reviewing and guiding the town’s planning and zoning efforts.
  • Requirements: Applicants must reside within the Town Corporate Limits and own property. Members must complete certification through the Virginia Certified Planning Commissions Program within one year of appointment. The Town covers certification costs.
  • Meetings: Twice a month, with additional work sessions as needed.

Local Board of Building Code Appeals (LBBCA)

  • Term: Unexpired term ending November 1, 2026
  • Role: A 5-member board handling appeals related to building regulations, ensuring safety and cost-effective development.
  • Requirements: Applicants must reside within the Town Corporate Limits and possess experience in construction, real estate, law, architecture, or engineering.
  • Meetings: Monthly, as needed.
