Front Royal’s Wine & Crafts Festival – FUN, even if wine glass-less

Published

on

As I arrived shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, May 20, to photograph Front Royal’s annual Wine & Crafts Festival I was informed of a crisis in the works – a shortage of wine glasses!!!  And while I did see some possibly empty-handed wine zombies wandering aimlessly, generally “spirits” were high over the hour or so I was on the scene.

Chamber Director Niki Foster said, “We had a great day – the weather was terrific and that translated to a large crowd.  We did have to switch to plain wine glasses later in the day because we sold out of our logo glasses.  It was a great problem to have.”

We heard wine glasses were at a premium as attendance soared throughout the day … Photos/Roger Bianchini

In fact, spirits – even of the empty-handed variety – appeared buoyed by the suddenly seasonal spring temperatures under gray but dry skies, music, dancing and myriad crafts and food options available. — But you KNOW what THEY say: “A picture is worth a thousand words” – so, here’s about 16,000 words worth of festival FUN …

Gazebo – Wine & Crafts ground zero for fun

Back to Zero got the crowd dancing with some classic Michael Jackson covers to open the afternoon music set — Gallows Bound and Grass Fed also entertained at various times and places.

Hmm, ‘Meltdown’ – I wonder if they’ll let adults in on this – Looks like fun … ‘Look, a grouse!!!’

Wine & crafts & Dems & elves & …

… a caboose and a place to rest.

Of course when it’s all over there is the cleanup …
