Gwendolyn “Gwen” Broce, 74, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at her residence in Midlothian, Virginia.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 1 PM at Living Waters Christian Church, 72 North Lake Avenue, Front Royal, with Pastor James Boyette officiating. Burial will follow at Panorama Memorial Gardens, Waterlick, Virginia.
Ms. Broce was born on August 12, 1950, in Front Royal, Virginia, to the late William and Mary Smith Broce. She was a founding member of Living Waters Christian Church and was a retired Supervisor and Technical Training Instructor from Philip Morris USA.
Gwen attended Warren High School in Front Royal, Virginia. She then graduated from Radford University with a degree in Education and was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She was a very accomplished athlete, earning several awards, including 4th in the nation in Fencing. She also played centerfield and batted clean-up for the former Virginia Bells Softball League, which was the semi-professional women’s team in Virginia. Gwen taught Physical Education for several years in Lunenburg County Public Schools. She was an excellent golfer and loved watching all kinds of sports, especially football. She later completed her graduate degree from George Washington University in Business.
Survivors include her sister, Joan Ann Reamy (Jimmy) of Callao, Virginia; brother, Jeffrey C. Broce of Hopewell, Virginia; aunts, Betty Cox of Staunton, Virginia and Garnett Gum of Craigsville, Virginia; niece, Angie Akins (John) of Powhatan, and a great niece, Shelby of Powhatan, Virginia; cousins, Patty Cox Maupin (Vernon) of Concord, Virginia, Jan Cox of Staunton, Kenneth Cox (Kelly) of Fairfield, devoted best friend of many years, Susan Brush and numerous extended family members.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Living Waters Christian Church, 72 North Lake Avenue, Front Royal, Virginia 22630., 74, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at her residence in Midlothian, Virginia.
