Jill Vogel: I need your help cutting red tape in Virginia

Published

on

Dear Friends,

For the past eight years Washington has been choking our economy with burdensome bureaucracy and red tape. With Republicans in charge, federal regulatory reform is now at the top of the agenda.

Virginia must do the same.

Under Virginia’s Democratic leadership, Virginia’s economic competitiveness has fallen from 5th to 13th and our growth to 48th in the nation.

I have introduced a constitutional amendment giving our state Delegates and Senators the power to repeal burdensome regulations with a simple vote.

You can read more about my regulatory rollback amendment here.

My proposed amendment transfers power from unelected bureaucrats back to legislators who must answer to their constituents during election season – just as our founders intended. The framers of our constitution never intended for so much of our economy to be controlled by those who do not answer directly to the voters.

I need your help to pass this amendment.

My amendment, numbered as SJ 295, faces its first test on Wednesday January 25th when it comes before a Senate subcommittee.

I need you to do three things to help this amendment pass.

First, sign the online petition calling for the passage of my regulatory rollback amendment.

Then, email or call the members of the Senate subcommittee listed below and ask them to support Vogel’s SJ 295 regulatory rollback amendment.

Please mention SJ 295 by number.

Senator John Cosgrove, Chairman
(804) 698-7514
District14@senate.virginia.gov

Senator Ben Chafin
(804) 698-7538
District38@senate.virginia.gov

Senator Amanda Chase
(804) 698-7511
District11@senate.virginia.gov

Senator Rosalyn Dance
804-698-7516
District16@senate.virginia.gov

Senator Lionell Spruill
(804) 698-7505
District05@senate.virginia.gov

Once you have contacted the committee, please forward this email on to others you know who understand that Virginia must enact serious regulatory reform before we can return to economic growth, and ask them to speak out in favor of this amendment.

Our economic future depends on Virginia being able to compete with other states.

In just five minutes, you can speak out and make a real difference in cutting through the bureaucracy and red tape standing in the way of job creation and economic growth.

Thank you so much for your help,
Jill Vogel

P. S. – Please do not forget to sign the online petition supporting SJ 295, the “Regulatory Rollback Amendment.”
