Open Mic for a Cause: This Saturday, November 18 in Front Royal

Published

on

Please come out for a great night of fun and entertainment in Front Royal. We have a fantastic line up of musicians, poets, dancers, actors, and other performers who are coming together to support Roof Over Their Heads, a nonprofit that supports the homeless in Warren County.

The event is free but donations are encouraged and we will have a raffle, food, and drinks.

The event starts at 7 PM and will take place at the What Matters/Open House space to the left of the Daily Grind on Main Street.

Featured Performers:

  • Local musicians Noah Waggener and Mike Shotton of the Daycare Swindlers, along with bassist Rafe Ruggierio, will unveil a new musical project.
  • Alan King, a poet who has published 2 books of poems, Drift and Point Blank, will read from new work. He holds an MFA in creative writing, is a 3-time Pushcart Prize nominee, and has been nominated 3 times for Best of the Net.
  • Missi Magalis, a fiction writer and an English teacher at Diversified Minds (a non-traditional program of Warren County Public Schools), will read from her work. A graduate of Shenandoah University, she has published 5 novels through her company Happy Creek Publishing.
  • Selah Theatre Troupe will perform selected scenes. Selah’s mission is to empower, educate, and enlighten our community with theatrical opportunities that encourage conversations and have a positive impact.

Also: Music by Rich Follett, impressions by Paul Martin, music by Gabe and Willow, comedy by Kip, music by Mark & Celia Cooley, poetry by Jose Padua, Heather Davis, Tammy Ruggiero, and MORE!
