The Only Library in the Country to be Defunded
Tuesday night, the untrained Warren County Board of Supervisors (BOS) completed their vindictive defunding of Samuels Library.
While there have been many lies spewed over the past year, you only need to consider three facts when you step into the voting booth:
- The BOS never directly communicates with the Samuels Library Board of Trustees. The BOS were never interested in compromise. The BOS was only interested in blowing up the Samuels Library Public/Private Partnership.
- The Oct 2024 BOS library report said the Samuels Library was too expensive. In May 2025, the BOS awarded a contract to a private library firm for the exact same cost as Samuel’s Library. NO savings. Obviously, Samuels Library was not too expensive.
- After receiving the library contract in May, the private company withdrew their bid in June. The private company just couldn’t work with the incompetent liars on the BOS.
Warren County now has the only library in the United States to be defunded. That is not something to be proud of. That is not something that will make Warren County a better place to live and work. That is just sad.
