Winter Blankets the Town as Residents Prepare for Another Storm

Published

This week, Front Royal and the surrounding Warren County area were transformed into a picturesque winter landscape. With more snow expected over the weekend, the quiet moments captured before the next wave of weather offer a serene pause—and a reminder to stay safe as conditions change.

Our staff photographer shared a selection of images showing the beauty of the snowfall around town, from Main Street to quiet backroads. Whether you’re bundling up indoors or venturing out, enjoy this look at our local winter wonderland.

Public works employees from the Town of Front Royal stay busy plowing local roads. With more snow on the way, crews are working extended shifts to keep priority routes accessible. Photos by DOK.

Joie Starcher fills up his truck at a local gas station before heading back out to continue plowing. “You gotta stay fueled up for this kind of work,” he said.

Residents take in the peaceful, snow-covered sidewalks along Main Street. A light dusting didn’t stop people from enjoying the scenery — or grabbing a coffee downtown.

VDOT and local contractors worked around the clock clearing roads. With more snow expected, drivers are urged to stay home during the height of the storm.
