Contribution to “New” Warren County Middle School for Recycling Stations, Bins and Educational Materials

REFERENCE: FR-WC Anti-Litter Council contributes $5,000.00 to Warren County Public Schools for Recycling Stations, Bins and Educational Materials for the new Warren County Middle School.

The Front Royal – Warren County Anti-Litter Council is pleased to announce that the “new” Warren County Middle School is the recipient of a $5,000 check. The money will be used for the purchase of recycling stations, recycling bins for classrooms and educational materials used to promote themes of “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle” of litter and objects that impact our environment.

Accepting the award were WCPS Superintendent, Greg Drescher and WC Middle School Principal, Amy Gubler and which was presented by ALC President, Matt Wendling. Both Mr. Drescher and Ms. Gubler were delighted with receiving the funds at a most opportune time as the school will be furnished in the next couple of months in time for its fall 2017 opening.

Members of the Anti-Litter Council felt this would be an appropriate project to support as it will benefit the school’s students during their daily routine and be a visible way to promote recycling. Educational outreach is a vital component of the State Litter and Recycling program and this project supports that incentive.

These monetary donations are made possible through a grant to the Anti-Litter Council from the Office of Environmental Education of the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality which promotes educational opportunities for the recycling, reusing, and reducing of litter and waste products in our everyday lives.

The Front Royal – Warren County Anti-Litter Council’s Mission is:

“To educate, motivate and participate in the prevention of litter and to assist the citizens of Front Royal and Warren County to become better stewards of our environment.”
