City Manager Dan Hoffman praised Lewis for his leadership skills and track record, stating, “Ronnie stood out among all the applicants. He brings decades of experience to this role and has a strong history of success. We are thrilled to have him lead our Police Department and work closely with the community.”

Under Lewis’ leadership in Bedford, the police department became known for its effective operations, innovative practices, and commitment to dignity and respect for all residents. Winchester officials expressed confidence that Lewis will bring the same dedication to their city.

In his new role, Lewis aims to prioritize public safety and foster trust between the department and the community. “My goal is simple: to make the City a safe place for residents, visitors, and businesses,” he said.

The selection process included interviews, background checks, and input from residents, reflecting the city’s commitment to finding the right leader. Lewis officially begins his tenure with high hopes from both officials and citizens for a safer and stronger Winchester.
