Explore the Night at Sky Meadows “Astronomy for Everyone”
Discover the wonders of the night sky at Sky Meadows State Park’s “Astronomy for Everyone” event on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 p.m. Located at 11012 Edmonds Lane, this International Dark-Sky Park invites visitors of all ages to an evening of exploration and learning.
Event Highlights
- Junior Astronomer Program (5:00 PM – 5:30 p.m.: A fun introduction to astronomy for kids.
- Dark Skies & Light Conservation Discussion: Learn about preserving dark skies.
- NASA JPL Presentation: Hear the latest updates in space research from Jet Propulsion Lab Ambassadors.
- Telescope Viewing with NOVAC: Northern Virginia Astronomy Club members will offer guided telescope observations. Bring your telescope or binoculars for personal stargazing!
Visitors should bring lawn chairs or blankets for a comfortable night under the stars.

- Fees: $10 per car (parking fee).
- Registration: Not required, but encouraged.
- Entrance: Gates close one hour before the program ends. The Turner Pond entrance is open for self-guided dark sky observation.
