Front Royal Vape Shops Targeted in Drug Investigation, No Arrests Yet

Published

on

Authorities have seized a massive amount of illegal THC products following a nine-month investigation into local vape shops. The Northwest Virginia Regional Drug and Gang Task Force executed multiple search warrants on Jan. 15, uncovering thousands of illicit items being sold in Front Royal and surrounding areas.

According to officials, the task force had been investigating reports that certain vape shops in Front Royal were selling marijuana and THC vape products illegally. The operation led law enforcement to businesses and residences in both the Town of Front Royal and Warren County and a business in Prince William County.

During the searches, officers confiscated 19,032 THC-containing products, with an estimated street value of $932,602. In addition to the narcotics, authorities seized three firearms and $16,033 in cash.

No arrests have been made at this time, but officials confirm that the investigation remains ongoing.

The Northwest Virginia Drug and Gang Task Force is made up of law enforcement personnel from multiple agencies, including sheriff’s offices in Clarke, Frederick, Page, Warren, and Shenandoah counties and police departments in Front Royal, Luray, Strasburg, and Winchester. The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Culpeper Field Office, is also part of the task force, which operates as a HIDTA-funded initiative.

Authorities have not released details on potential suspects or further actions, but the case highlights the ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug activity in the region.
