Warren Coalition Invites Local Youth to Get Creative in Annual Health Video Contest

Published

on

Lights, camera, action! The Warren Coalition is calling on creative young minds in Warren County to take part in its annual Health Video Contest, where healthy habits take center stage. Open to youth ages 11-14, this exciting competition encourages participants to create a 15-second or 30-second video promoting one of four essential wellness practices:

  • Getting quality sleep to recharge the mind and body
  • Eating healthy for energy and overall well-being
  • Exercising regularly to stay active and strong
  • Drinking water to keep hydrated and focused

The best part? Winners from each category will take home a 125-dollar gift card, giving local students the chance to turn their creativity into cash.

Submissions are open now through March 1, and all entries must be uploaded at warrencoalition.org/health-video-contest. Music is welcome only if it’s royalty-free, and by submitting a video, contestants give Warren Coalition permission to use their work in promotional campaigns to encourage positive lifestyle choices among youth.

This competition is exclusive to Warren County residents, including students in public, private, and homeschool settings. It’s a great opportunity for young people to flex their filmmaking skills while spreading an important message about health and wellness.

The contest is sponsored by the Warren Coalition and made possible through Project WAHOO (Working to Achieve Healthy Opportunities and Outcomes), funded by the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth.

For more details or questions, contact Celeste Brooks at celeste@warrencoalition.org.

Established in 1994, the Warren Coalition has been a cornerstone of health promotion and substance abuse prevention in the community. Originally launched as an outreach initiative through Warren Memorial Hospital, the coalition has since grown into a powerful nonprofit dedicated to making Warren County a safe, healthy, and drug-free place to live. Based at the Warren County Community Center, the coalition collaborates with more than 15 partner agencies to offer impactful programs that educate and inspire.

So, grab a camera, unleash your creativity, and help spread the word about healthy living—your video could make a difference and put 125 dollars in your pocket.
