On Thursday, March 16 at the weekly Interact Club meeting at Randolph-Macon Academy Middle School, students presented a check to Christina (Harper) Smith (R-MA class of 2008) in the amount of $150 to the organization Autism Speaks, in honor of her son “Peanut” (center of photo) and “Peanut’s Patrol”. Smith has set a goal of $2,000 of this Autism Speaks fundraiser.
This school year, the R-MA Middle School Interact students have raised over $2,000, and contributed over 1,200 hours of service above self towards their local, regional and international community. Organizations impacted positively by these R-MA Middle School Interact activities are The Salvation Army, Able Forces, Rise Against Hunger (formerly known as “Stop Hunger Now”), and now Autism Speaks.
Since inception in 2011, the R-MA Middle School Interact Club has raised over $10,000 and contributed over 6,000 hours to local, regional and International humanitarian efforts.
