FRONT ROYAL — C-CAP of Front Royal and Warren County leader Pat Younk, affectionately known as “Mr. Pat”, died suddenly today in Warren County.  A heart attack is suspected to be the cause of death, according to a family friend, who was with the family Tuesday evening.

Younk was well-known in the area for his work with C-CAP, the Congregational-Community Action Project,  a volunteer-operated, non-profit, tax-exempt corporation that provides emergency food, clothing and limited financial aid to local families in need.

C-CAP’s “safety net” helps families who do not qualify for support elsewhere, or when existing support is not adequate due to special circumstances.

Younk led about 50 unpaid volunteers at the organization and was especially passionate about reaching out to help the homeless population in the community.

Information regarding funeral arrangements will be posted once they are made available by the family.
