Charles “Kevin” Gray (1961 – 2024)
Charles “Kevin” Gray, of Culpeper, VA, passed away peacefully at 63 on his birthday, Thursday, October 24, 2024.
Kevin was born October 24, 1961, in Arlington, VA, the son of the late James Handevidt and Janice Mosser Handevidt. In his early life, Kevin lived in both Northern Virginia and Laceyville, Pennsylvania.
He started his long-time career as a construction worker in his early twenties and was a proud member of The National Asbestos Workers Local 24 until his retirement. He worked on government buildings, his most notable being the Phoenix Project, where he was bestowed the honor to help rebuild the Pentagon after the damage endured from the September 11 terrorist attacks. Kevin lived most of his adult life at the beautiful Lake Anna, VA, and eventually moved to Culpeper, VA, after his two daughters were grown.
Kevin was passionate about his family, especially his kids and grandchildren. He loved his motorcycles since he was a boy and will forever be a “Harley” man in the minds of people who loved him. Kevin was also a loyal Washington fan for life (HTTR)! Kevin will be remembered for being the best dad and grandpa in the world, a funny, carefree spirit, and a loyal and true friend.
Kevin is survived by his two daughters, Tara Gray and Kayla Gray; three grandchildren, Kaydon, Kolton, and Kora; one brother, James Gray; one sister, Tammy Coleman; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by a brother, John Follin; a sister, Vickie Eckert; and a nephew, Travis Coleman.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, November 17, 2024, beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the upstairs event hall at Skyline Ranch Resort, 751 Mountain Rd, Front Royal, VA 22630. Flowers can be sent directly to his daughters Tara and Kayla Gray at 2152 Rivermont Dr, Front Royal, VA 22630, to be displayed at the Celebration of Life. The delivery is scheduled for November 15 or 16 only.
