Donald “Joe” Coberly, 78, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away at Winchester Medical Center on Thursday, July 25, 2024.

A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery, 211 Lee Highway, Luray, Virginia, with Pastor Ingred Chenoweth officiating.

Joe was born on September 13, 1945, in Warren County, Virginia, to the late Margaret Johanna and Harry Joe Coberly. He was also preceded in death by his previous wives, Janice Lynne Coberly and Janet Lindenmeyer.

Joe is survived by his sons, Allan and Bryan Coberly; his brother, Eddie Coberly (Debbie); his nephew, Martin Coberly; and his cousin, Shelly Price.

Joe grew up in Richmond, Virginia, and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia, earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees, respectively. He loved books and worked in libraries and bookstores, eventually settling in Columbia, Maryland. When he returned to Front Royal, he followed a passion for “old stuff” by operating antique stores in the area until retirement.
