For 2nd year out of Warren County, ‘MAWMR’ rides for cancer support

Published

on

This week the northside Warren County Holiday Inn at Blue Ridge Shadows was again ground zero for the Mid-Atlantic Women’s Motorcycle Rally (MAWMR).  Last year the lady bikers celebrated their 25th anniversary meeting here.  And they must have like the view, and hospitality, because they are back for a second year of riding in the Northern Shenandoah Valley and various destinations.

Thursday, June 21, we encountered the ladies gathering their bikes at the front entrance to the Blue Ridge Shadows Holiday Inn for what they estimated as a 97-mile ride on the Skyline Drive for lunch and back.

As Royal Examiner reported last year, MAWMR has raised over half-million dollars for two cancer charities that assist women during treatment: H.O.P.E. (Help for Oncology Problems and Emotional Support), based in New Freedom, Pa. and Pink Out Women’s Cancer Fund, based in Hanover, Pa.  Both organizations serve cancer patients in the Mid-Atlantic area.

Way to ride for a cause, ladies!!!  Welcome back to Front Royal and Warren County.

A thank you message from H.O.P.E. – one of the cancer support organizations MAWMR rides to raise money for.

For the second consecutive year the parking lot at the Blue Ridge Shadows Holiday Inn and nearby Houlihan’s has taken on a slightly different look during the Mid-Atlantic Women’s Motorcycle Rally.
