Frances Ann (Lambert) Simmons (1947 – 2024)

Frances Ann (Lambert) Simmons, 77, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, in the comfort of her home.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W Main St., Front Royal, VA. Pastor Taeshin Kim will officiate, and Sherry Waddell will assist. A visitation will precede the service, beginning at 11 a.m. Following the service, entombment will take place at Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Born in Circleville, WV, on June 9, 1947, Fran was the daughter of the late Clarence and Dessie Lambert. She was the youngest of nine siblings, all of whom preceded her in death.

Fran is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Scott Simmons; her son, Greg Simmons,, and his wife, Julie; her grandchildren, William and Stella; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fran was an avid reader, a lover of animals, a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, and an active participant in the Ladies Auxiliary VFW (Post 1860), where she served as president for three years. Fran worked for many years as a bookkeeper and generously volunteered her skills to various civic, charitable, and religious organizations.
