Published

on

Northwestern Community Services Board Prevention and Wellness Services, in partnership with Healthy Families of Shenandoah County, is holding a Free Adult Mental Health First Aid Training at the Shenandoah County Fire and Rescue, 600 N. Main St Door 14 Woodstock, VA 22664, on September 17, 2024. The training will begin at 8:00 am and end around 5:00 pm.

Through this course, you will learn how to recognize signs and symptoms that might indicate someone is developing a mental health challenge or experiencing a mental health crisis. You will also learn how to respond and support that individual while getting them linked to appropriate mental health resources.

One former participant said “this class helped me know what to look for, how to approach someone I’m concerned about and where they can go for appropriate help.”

This training does require registration as it includes ten minutes of prework that must be completed online before the beginning of the training. This all-day training does not include food or drinks, but there will be a 30-minute break for lunch. All participants are encouraged and welcome to bring snacks and drinks.

To register for this training, please go to preventionandwellness.ticketleap.com/adult-mental-health-first-aid
